Balangir: A man allegedly died by suicide on Monday after his second wife, suffering from kidney-related ailment, passed away last night at Dabari village under Kantabanji police limits in Odisha’s Balangir district.
The deceased person has been identified as Godhan Mallick.
According to sources, Godhan spent a lot of money on treatment of his wife Chandrakala but failed to save her life. She breathed his last around 11 pm on Sunday. Hours after her death, the grieving husband hanged self from a tree at his farmland.
The villagers spotted the body early this morning and immediately informed Kantabanji police, which reached the spot and started investigation.
