Keonjhar: A moving truck caught fire in front of BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) near Tanto village under Barbil police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
The driver had a narrow escape even as the 10-wheeler was partially reduced to ashes in the accident, which took place while it was on its was to Bhadrasahi from Rugudi.
According to sources, the driver slowed down the truck and jumped off it after noticing smoke emitting from the vehicle. Gradually, the fire engulfed the front portion of the vehicle. Security guards deployed in BRPL informed local police and fire services personnel, who reached the spot and doused the flames.
While the fire is being attributed to a suspected short-circuit, Barbil police have initiated a probe.
