Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Parliamentarian Aparajita Sarangi has accused the DGP of Odisha Police of not furnishing status report on few murder cases in the state in the last few years.
It may be recalled that Sarangi had sought status report on few murder cases from the director-general of police but got no response from the state’s top cop despite being assured of the same in seven days.
Sarangi took to Twitter to point out Odisha’s dismal show in checking criminal activities/murders citing the India Justice Report. The report placed Odisha 11th among the 18 states taken into consideration across the country.
“Weeks back, I requested DGP, Odisha, for a status report on certain murders in the last few years. Was assured of reply in 7 days. No response. Lethargy or indifference? No wonder, Odisha is down by four ranks in India Justice Report, 2020-11th amid 18 states. Time to raise in Parliament,” the member of Parliament tweeted.
