Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and MP Aparajita Sarangi called on Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday and sought the execution of multiple projects in Bhubaneswar.
The projects discussed by the Lok Sabha member with Odisha CM were – setting up Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy under the aegis of Ministry of AYUSH; state of the art Wholesale Fish Market at Palasuni (Bhubaneswar); and setting up regional branch of National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in the Odisha capital.
Currently, there is no NGMA branch in eastern part of India. Temple City Bhubaneswar with rich historical and cultural heritage is an ideal location for the Gallery’s presence, a letter by the Bhubaneswar MP to CM Majhi noted.
Sarangi also requested the CM to expedite the integrated development plan of Maa Ugratara Shaktipeetha Temple in Khurda.
Speaking about integrated development plan of Maa Ugratara Shaktipeetha temple at a presser today, Sarangi said the project envisaging enhancement of economic activities in the vicinity of the temple is facing severe land issues due to which construction work has been stalled.
“Out of 20.064 acre land required for the project only 5.031 acres endowment land has been allotted for construction. The remaining land needs to be handed over to the executing agency for construction,” she added.
Similarly, for the proposed Wholesale Fish Market project at Palasuni in Bhubaneswar, Rs 50 crore has been approved by thee state government and Ministry of Fisheries had sanctioned Rs 50 crore on March 29, 2023 under PM Matshya Sampad Yojana (PMMSY).
“The Union Ministry released first instalment amounting to Rs 12.50 crore including state share (on 60:40 basis). The funds are lying with the Officer of Director, Fisheries, Odisha for the past one year,” the Bhubaneswar MP stated.
Sarangi sought the CM’s intervention and appropriate steps by state agencies to expedite these projects. Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev, BJP leaders Jagannath Pradhan and Priyadarshi Mishra accompanied Sarangi to the meeting with the CM.
