Bhubaneswar: BJP MP and former Union Minister Pratap Sarangi was on Tuesday, referred to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for better treatment after getting discharged from Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital (FMMCH) in Odisha’s Balasore.
According to sources, Sarangi was admitted to FMMCH due to chest pain.
“For the last seven to eight days, I had been visiting the hospital as I was experiencing chest pain. I was also on medication. But I ran high temperature the day before yesterday. I visited the hospital yesterday and on the advice of the doctors, I got admitted. Today they (the doctors) have referred me to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar,” he told the media.
Meanwhile, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Balasore Dulalsen Jagdev told a presser that Sarangi’s health condition is stable.
“He is insisting that he is doing well and there is no need to go to AIIMS. But since he is our MP, we are praying for his speedy recovery. We are referring him to AIIMS because he is a heart patient and will have better facilities there. A doctor team from the FMMCH and other officials are accompanying him,” said Jagdev.
Notably, Sarangi tested positive for COVID-19 in October 2021.
