MPs’ Day Out: Jaya Bachchan Arranges Special Screening Of Abhishek’s Movie ‘Dasvi’

New Delhi: In a novel way to promote his son’s upcoming movie, Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan organized a special screening of ‘Dasvi’ for her fellow Parliamentarians here on Friday.

Dasvi, which will release on OTT platforms on April 7, has Abhishek playing the role of an illiterate, corrupt politician who finds a new challenge in prison — education.

Helmed by first-time director Tushar Jalota and written by Ritesh Shah, the social comedy also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur among others.

“Watched #Dasvi and loved it! A must watch for the excellent acting by @bachchan as well as the movie’s emphasis on Education. Was a pleasure to be part of the screening today in #Delhi (post Parliamentary duty of course). Thank you Jaya ji for making this pic happen,” Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote on Instagram alongside a picture with Abhishek.

Another MP from Maharashtra Rajani Patil tweeted: “Enjoyed the movie Dasvi with Fellow MPs, showcased specially from Smt Jaya Bachhan ji, in presence of Abhishek Bacchan ji. Thank you Jaya ji. Best Luck @juniorbachchan ji.”
