Mumbai: Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine As Light’ is one of the most discussed and appreciated films of 2024.
Many felt it should have been India’s official entry for Oscars 2025. It missed the bus, but has already won several international accolades. The film has also bagged two nominations at the prestigious 82nd Golden Globes — in Best Motion Picture Non-English Language and Best Direction – Motion Picture categories.
Now, the film which had its world premiere at the main competition of the 77th Cannes Film Festival seven months ago, is set for OTT release.
Come January 3, ‘All We Imagine As Light’ will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, the streaming giant announced.
The film narrates the story of how a nurse’s life in Mumbai takes an unexpected turn when a surprise present arrives from her estranged husband.
In May, ‘All We Imagine As Light’ made history by winning the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival.
The Malayalam-Hindi feature was released in India by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media in November, and distributed in the US by Janus Films and Sideshow.
