Bengaluru: A fresh complaint has been filed with the Enforcement Directorate against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for alleged evidence tampering in the MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) land allotment case.
The complaint filed by Pradeep Kumar, one of the complainants in the MUDA case, has named Chief Minister’s son Yathindra and MUDA officials and sought investigation against them for evidence tampering.
This came a day after MUDA decided to take back 14 plots allotted to Karnataka CM’s wife BN Parvathi, following her decision to relinquish their ownership and possession. She had requested the authority for cancellation of the sale deed in light of the ongoing political controversy. “We have cancelled the sale deed for the 14 sites in Parvathi Siddaramaiah’s name and will inform the investigating agencies. The plots will not be allotted to anyone until the investigation is concluded,” MUDA commissioner A N Raghunandan was quoted as saying.
These plots in Vijayanagar Phase 3 and 4 in Mysuru were allotted to her as compensation against 3.16 acre of land in Kesare village near the city. It was, however, alleged that the premium properties were allotted to Parvathi in violation of norms and caused a loss of Rs 45 crore to the state exchequer.
On Monday, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), equivalent to an FIR by police, against the Chief Minister over the alleged irregularities in allotment of 14 sites to his wife by the MUDA.
The Lokayukta has also registered a case against Siddaramaiah in the alleged scam after the Karnataka High Court upheld the Governor’s sanction to prosecute him.
Siddaramaiah, who was the Chief Minister when the allotment was made by MUDA, had denied the charges against him and his wife, and refused to step down amid clamour for his resignation.
