New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has upgraded the security cover of top industrialist Mukesh Ambani.
The Chairman and MD of Reliance Industries Limited’s security was ramped up to Z+ category based on Intelligence agency’s threat perception report, India Today reported quoting sources.
The Home Ministry had been considering the strengthening of Ambani’s security following the bomb scare outside the billionaire’s Mumbai residence Antilia last year.
The Indian government provides security to recognized personalities whose lives may be at risk because of the nature of their work and/or popularity.
Depending on information provided by Intelligence agencies and after assessing threat perceptions, high-level security is classified mainly into five groups — X, Y, Z, Z+, SPG.
