Mumbai: Security agencies have been on high alert since Mumbai Police received an email, threatening to bomb Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, on Friday,
According to reports, the threat was sent to the Mumbai Airport Police’s official email ID. It referred to executions of convicted terrorists Afzal Guru and Saibabu Shankar (also known as Saivakkun Shankar) and described them as unjust.
No suspicious items was found during security checks at these two locations. An FIR has been filed against the unidentified sender under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and further investigation is underway.
Notably, Mumbai Police had stepped up security at all the prime locations across the financial capital amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan post Operation Sindoor launch by the Indian Armed forces in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
