Mumbai: Actress-turned politician Hema Malini is extremely upset with the conditions in Mumbai city during monsoon season.
She shared a recent experience which exasperated her no end.
While travelling from Mira Road to her Juhu residence, the Mathura MP was frustrated by heavy traffic after rains lashed the city. It took her two hours to reach the destination.
Speaking to a portal, Hema raised concerns over the traffic situation and took Mumbai traffic police to task.
“I just can’t imagine how a pregnant woman must be travelling on these roads that are full of potholes. My concern is that of a Mumbaikar and the job of the police is to control traffic and guide those travelling by road. Today I had a first-hand experience of it,” she was quoted as saying by ETimes.
“Mumbai kya tha kya ho gaya hai (what Mumbai was and what it has become),” Hema lamented.
She made her displeasure clear by comparing Mumbai’s situation with that in her constituency (Mathura) and in Delhi.
“I really get scared to go out (in Mumbai) since there is so much traffic and chaos. In places like Delhi and even Mathura, although there is still a lot of traffic, things have been streamlined,” she said.
