Heavy Rain Derails Local Train Services In Mumbai

Mumbai: Local trains in Mumbai were running late after waterlogging on railway tracks due to heavy overnight rain in the city, reports NDTV. Several short and long-distance trains have also been delayed or cancelled. Waterlogging has also been reported from low-lying areas like Sion and Dadar and Malad.

At least 100mm of rainfall was recorded between 4 and 5am on Monday in Palghar near Mumbai.

Heavy rain is likely to continue for the next few hours over Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar, ANI quoted the Met department as saying.

Trains between Mumbai and Pune were delayed after a goods train derailed.
