Mumbai: Co-owner of two popular restaurants in Mumbai, the Bombay Canteen and O Pedro, Chef Floyd Cardoz died of coronavirus in a hospital in New York City on Wednesday, the Scroll said in a report.
Cardoz, who was in Mumbai until March 8, had tested positive for COVID-19 in New York on March 18, Hunger Inc, the company that runs the restaurants, had earlier confirmed.
According to a report published in Mid-Day, the restaurateur-chef had put up an instagram post, stating that he had contacted the virus 10 days earlier and was admitted to a hospital in New York. This was three days back. He later deleted the post and termed his hospitalisation as a precautionary measure.
