Mumbai: Munawar Faruqui has entered a new phase in his life, as he and his wife Mehzabeen Faruqui have welcomed their first child together—a baby girl.
On Friday, he shared the joyful news on Instagram through a series of heartwarming photos, giving fans a glimpse of his wife and their newborn at the hospital.
Sharing the pictures, Munawar wrote, “Ghar barkat aayi. Blessed ✨… dua mai khas yaad rakhe (Prosperity has entered our home. Blessed … keep us in your prayers).”
In one of the pictures, Munawar is seen holding his wife’s hand as she rests on a hospital bed, with their newborn visible in the background.
Another image captures a tender moment in the room, showing his wife cradling the baby close to her chest as she recovers after delivery, dressed in a hospital gown with medical equipment around her.
Soon after the announcement, congratulatory messages poured in from several members of the film fraternity.
Filmmaker Farah Khan posted, “Arre wah! Blessings for your little angel”.
Actor Varun Dhawan wrote, “Congratulations bhai.”
Music composer Vishal Dadlani shared, “The best of all things to all of you, @munawar.faruqui ! Mubarak ho!”.
Guneet Monga, Gauhar Khan and Sonali Bendre also extended their heartfelt wishes to the couple as they began this new phase of parenthood.
Munawar, who won ‘Bigg Boss 17’, married makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala in 2024.
Known for keeping his personal life largely private, the actor-comedian later shared details about his wedding during an appearance on Farah Khan’s vlog.
He revealed that his decision to marry Mehzabeen was influenced by his seven-year-old son, Mikael.
“When I came out of Bigg Boss, I was busy with a lot of work. At that time, Mikael was living with my sister then. He was with me for a week and we spent a lot of time together. When he was leaving, I felt like I don’t want him to go. I felt that he needs me. That time he kept hugging me the whole time, I felt that he needs me. At that point I wondered what I could so to keep him with me. For him, I took that decision. Even her [Mehzabeen] situation was quite similar like me. She has a 10-year-old daughter. I asked her the next day, ‘Are you okay marrying me?’ I stayed with that decision the whole night. I felt that Mikael should stay with me, I was just praying for that,” Munawar said in the episode.
Munawar was previously married to Jasmine, with whom he shares his son, Mikael. The marriage ended in divorce, and he currently has sole custody of his son.
