Keonjhar: A prisoner serving imprisonment for life escaped from the jail in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
The inmate, identified as Paresh Munda, was serving life sentence since 2014 after being convicted in a murder case.
Sources said was engaged in gardening work on Saturday when he disappeared under mysterious conditions. He had been performing work in the prison garden for the last several years. However, he was found missing after he went to the garden.
The prison authorities have lodged a complaint at Keonjhar Town Police Station after coming to know about Munda’s escape.
While the circumstances in which the murder convict escaped from the jail is still unclear, efforts are on by the police to trace him.
