Rayagada: The skeletal remains found on a hill near Nuasahi in Odisha’s Rayagada district was sent to FMT (faecal microbiota transplant) laboratory of the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for tests on Monday.
The skeleton was found hanging from a tree on the hill. Police suspect it to be that of a missing CRPF constable, Dharam Deb, as his uniform, identity card and Aadhaar Card were recovered from the spot.
“The FMT report will shed light on whether the CRPF constable had committed suicide or was murdered,” police said.
Preliminary investigation had revealed that the CRPF constable of Uttar Pradesh was posted at the Seshakhal camp in Rayagada district. He was sent on duty to the Chaiti Parab festival near Nuasahi on December 29 last year. He was scheduled to proceed to his native place after this duty.
However, he went on missing on January 2 and his family members had then lodged a complaint with the local police.
Meanwhile, the son of the CRPF constable, who works in a company in Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh, arrived in Rayagada this morning.
Police said they will hand over the belonging of his father kept at the Seshakhal camp after he identifies them.
