‘Murdered’ Youth Walks Back Home After 19 Months

Bargarh: A youth, who was allegedly murdered about 19 months back, returned home at Piplipali village under Paikmal police limits in Bargarh district on Tuesday.

Jitu Dansana (19), son of Manoranjan Dansana, had gone missing from his house on December 7, 2016, following which his family members lodged a complaint at Paikmal police station on December 25.

Basing on the complaint, police had arrested two persons, identified as Halu Gurla (22) and Raghab Naik (22) of Bargarh town, on charges of killing Jitu in June last year.

The duo had confessed that they killed Jitu and later dumped his body on Jeera river bed. The cops had also recovered Jitu’s mobile phone from them.

However, according to Jitu, he lost consciousness in the attack and the two fled the spot thinking him to be dead. Instead returning home, Jitu reportedly went to New Delhi where he worked in a catering firm.

After a year, he shifted to Kolkata and started working there in a band party. Recently, Jitu met an ice-cream seller in Kolkata and narrated his ordeal. The ice-cream seller called up Jitu’s family members, who reached the place along with police and brought him back.

Meanwhile, Jitu’s family members told the cops that he is mentally unstable and unable to explain about his purpose to visit New Delhi and Kolkata.

The matter is under investigation.
