Bhubaneswar: Emotions like love and desire are inseparable in a person’s life. Even in adverse circumstances, the need for belongingness and comfort with partner remains strong. These emotions have been beautifully portrayed in award winning filmmaker Snehasis Das’ recently released Hindi music video ‘Ghar Jana Hai’, the stories untold.
Climate change has forced villagers in Odisha, Maharashtra and Rajasthan to abandon home and migrate to other places in search of livelihood. The song ‘Ghar jana hai….is about the natural instinct for love and care against the backdrop of drought.
The video was recently launched in presence of eminent singer Ila Arun and cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar in Mumbai. California-based vocalist Konark Sarangi has lent voice for the song, which features Bollywood actor Raj Zutshi of Lagaan fame and Odia actress Gargi Mohanty. The video has been shot in drought-affected Kantabanji in Odisha. “Victims of natural calamities go through biological instincts like those in other parts of the world. Their desires, however, get suppressed in the struggle for existence. While we deliberate on the effects of climate change, its impact on human emotions are least spoken about,” said Das, who plans to releases a series of single videos touching upon different aspects of calamity-affected people. He has worked in environment and development-related projects earlier and understands the subject well. The video is currently available on YouTube and will soon be released on other web portals and television channels.
