New Delhi: Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has directed all employees to submit weekly reports on their work and achievements in three to five bullet points.
Sounds familiar?
Yes, it’s very similar to the recent instruction sent out to US federal employees by Donald Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk.
In an email a few days ago, Musk and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) asked government employees to provide a bullet-point list of their work accomplishments from the previous week, or risk losing their jobs.
Now, the Ola CEO has announced a new initiative called ‘Kya Chal Raha Hai? (What’s going on)’ for its employees, through an internal email.
An X user shared the email screenshot.
“Please send a brief update to your manager and Kyachalrahahai@olagroup.in (the email will be active in an hour or so) with 3-5 bullet points about what you got done last week. Keep it simple and to the point,” Aggarwal said, and made it clear that all employees must send these updates.
“Use the email subject: ‘Weekly updates. ’ The deadline for this is today, end of the day. Going forward, we will expect the email before the end of the day. Everyone has to send this. No exceptions,” Aggarwal added.
Ola is currently going through layoffs as part of a major restructuring. Sources told Moneycontrol reported that the company has started cutting jobs, affecting around 1,000 employees from sales, distribution, and marketing teams.
“The company is identifying areas where restructuring is needed. Some on-ground distribution networks were shut down, and several people there were let go,” the sources said.
