Muthoot Chairman Plunges To Death At Delhi Home

New Delhi: Two days after Muthoot Group chairman, MG George Muthoot was killed reportedly after falling from his house here, police are yet to ascertain the exact cause of fall.

Police only said a probe was conducted into the matter and statements were recorded. The CCTV cameras were also checked.

“Inquest proceeding is being done,” said DCP (South East Delhi) RP Meena.

The 72-year-old tycoon fell from the fourth floor of his house in Delhi’s East of Kailash around 9 pm on Friday, police said on Saturday. He was rushed to Fortis Escort Hospital where he was declared dead during treatment.

His post-mortem report, which was conducted at AIIMS, suggests no foul play.

As a chairman of the company, he played a pivotal role in taking Muthoot Finance to new heights, expanding its reach across the country and even overseas especially to the Middle East.

Muthoot was for long based in the national capital even though his diversified group that runs over 20 businesses from gold loans to securities, realty estate to infrastructure, hospitals to hospitality and education, is headquartered in Kochi making it one of the largest business houses in the state, India Today reported.
