Koraput: Mutilated bodies of two youths were found on the railway tracks near Jarti station in Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday.
According to preliminary reports, the bodies lying on the tracks were spotted by locals in the morning. They immediately informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) about the incident.
A team of GRP rushed to the spot and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the death of the two men.
The identity of the two young men is yet to be ascertained. Restoration work is in progress at the moment at Jarti railway station and many workers, several of them from outside the region, are engaged in the project.
The police are still unsure whether the two were killed and their bodies thrown on the tracks or they committed suicide. It is also suspected that they might have fallen from a moving train.
