Keonjhar: The body of a 15-year-old boy with multiple injury marks was recovered from under a bridge in Joda area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Tuesday.
As per reports, the body was found under the bridge near Kohlahundula village under the jurisdiction of Joda police in the district. The deceased boy was identified Sukdev Laguri (15) of Jamukundia village.
The boy, who was a Class VI student in a residential school run by a private company in the area, was suspected to have been stoned to death. He had reportedly gone to his village on Saturday for Makar Sankranti.
He had gone out on Monday evening, but did not return. His family members launched a frantic search, but were unable to trace him. His body was found under the bridge in the morning.
On being informed, a police team reached the site and recovered the body which was sent for postmortem. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and efforts are on to ascertain the circumstances that led to his death. A scientific team was also sent to examine the site for clues.
