Sundargarh: Mutilated body of a woman, who had gone missing six days ago, has been recovered from a forest in Koida area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
The body of the woman, identified as Gura Naik, was found in Mendhamruni forest near her village Kalamanga village under Malda Panchayat, sources said.
The woman had been missing for the last six days after venturing into the forest. Family members tried to tried to trace her but failed. complaint in this regard was lodged with Koida police. Some locals who had been to the forest yesterday spotted the mutilated body of the woman and informed her family members.
After getting information, police personnel rushed to the site and seized the body which was sent for postmortem.
While the woman was suspected to have died after being attacked by some wild animals, the exact reason of her death would be ascertained only after the postmortem, police said.
