My Father Is Stable: Pranab Mukherjee’s Son Abhijit Clarifies After Fake News Of Death

New Delhi: Former president of India Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit clarified that his father is stable and still alive. His reaction came after journalist Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted the news of former president’s death.

“My Father Shri Pranab Mukherjee is still alive & haemodynamically stable ! Speculations & fake news being circulated by reputed Journalists on social media clearly reflects that Media in India has become a factory of Fake News,” Abhijit tweeted.

Earlier, Sardesai had tweeted the death news and later retracted with an apology.

“Note friends: reports of the passing away of former President Pranab Mukherjee have been denied.. Pranab da remains critical but is fighting on. He has always fought through good times and bad and we hope he wins this battle too.. our thoughts with his family.. Folded handsFolded hands,” Sardesai clarified.


The veteran journalist also apologised for fake news that he fell prey to.

It may be recalled that 84-year-old Mukherjee was admitted to hospital on the advice of doctors and had tested positive for COVID-19 before undergoing surgery to remove a clot in his brain.
