Mysterious Blast In Bhubaneswar Creates Panic Among Locals; Police Launch Probe

Bhubaneswar: An explosion that took place at a house in Jharpada area of Bhubaneswar trigged panic among the residents of the area.

The exact reason behind the mysterious blast that occurred late on Monday night is yet to be ascertained and the police have launched an investigation into the incident.

A portion of the house has reportedly collapsed under the impact of the blast. Some people have reportedly been injured in the explosion, reports said.

As per information, the house which functioned as a commercial unit, stored various products, including deodorants.

House owner Kabiraj Swain told media that someone may have hurled a bomb. The room contained properties worth around Rs 31 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh cash, he said.

Locals said they were sleeping when they heard a loud noise and later fire was noticed at the damaged house.

Body and homecare products in large quantity were stated to have been damaged in the incident.

As police have started investigation to ascertain the cause of the explosion, a forensic team has also been roped in for the probe.
