Phulbani: The wife of the BDO of Phiringia in Kandhamal district, Rashmiranjan Mahanta, was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
Police said they were baffled by the fact that despite informing the family about her death, no one came to the hospital to claim her body.
According to Phubani police, a case of unnatural death was registered after the woman’s body was discovered on Wednesday night.
“We are investigating the possible circumstances which led to her death. Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, but we can only confirm that after receiving the post mortem report,” said Phulbani SDPO Mahendranath Murmu.
