Bhubaneswar: A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Bhubaneswar late Tuesday night.
According to sources, the woman, identified as Subhashree Mohapatra of Shastri Nagar, was alone in her house as her husband was away and her son had gone to attend a tuition class. When her son returned home from the tuition, he found Subhashree lying motionless on the floor.
He immediately informed his father Anant Narayan Nath about the condition of his mother. Anant rushed to the house and took Subhashree to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. But the doctors in the hospital declared her brought dead.
Speaking to media, Anant said when he came to the house, he found Subhashree lying on the ground with a distinct mark on her neck. “The doctors in the Capital Hospital said either Subhashree had committed suicide or someone had strangled her to death,” he said.
On being informed by hospital authorities, a team from Kharavel Nagar police station went there and seized Subhashrre’s body. They have registered an unnatural death case and launched an investigation.
On Wednesday morning, a scientific team went to Anant’s house for investigation. Police have seized Subhashree’s mobile phone and questioned her neighbours.
