Bhubaneswar: The Lingaraj Police recovered the bodies of a newlywed couple from a house at Keuta Street in Old Town area of Bhubaneswar on Friday.
They have been identified as Rakesh Rout (32) and Menakshi Rout (26).
According to sources, Rakesh was working as a newspaper hawker and the two had married three months ago.
Locals alerted the police when the couple did not open the door till late in the morning. After reaching the spot, the cops broke open the door and found Rakesh hanging from the ceiling of the house while his wife was lying dead on the ground.
Though the exact cause behind the deaths is yet to be ascertained, police suspect it to be a case of suicide.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem and further investigation is on.
