Bhubaneswar: As BJP stepped up its attack on the Odisha government over Naba Das murder, its youth wing on Thursday announced plans to gherao the state Assembly on February 28 to protest deteriorating law and order situation.
Announcing this at a press meet in Bhubaneswar, state BJP Yuva Morcha president Irasis Acharya said the protest will continue till comletion of the probe into the mysterious murder of Naba Das. The party will further intensify the stir in days ahead, he said.
Coming down heavily on the state government, Acharya claimed that BJD has failed to ensure safety and security to the common people despite being in power for the last 23 years. People in the state are not safe and secure during the BJD rule, he claimed.
Stating that activists of state BJP Yuva Morcha will stage a demonstration and gherao the state Assembly on February 28, Acharya said the agitation will continue till the government ensures safety of the people and gives justice to the family of Naba Das.
BJP has been alleging that there was a deep rooted conspiracy behind the murder of Minister Naba Das, who was shot in the chest allegedly by a policeman Gopal Das near Gandhi Chowk at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on January 29. He succumbed to injuries at a Bhubaneswar hospital hours later.
