Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in Naba Das murder case, his wife is slated to meet Odisha Chief Minister Mohan CharanMajhi on Wednesday for discussion regarding the investigation into the daylight murder of the senior BJD leader over two years ago.

As per sources, the slain leader’s wife Minati Das is expected to meet the Chief Minister at the Lok Seva Bhavan in the evening. This meeting comes after the family of Naba Das sought an appointment with Majhi in connection with the probe into the Minister’s murder.

The family of the slain leader is expected to discuss the expectations and any new developments with the Chief Minister during meeting.

Meanwhile, Naba Das’ daughter Dipali Das, a former BJD MLA, expressed her desire to meet Chief Minister to discuss the ongoing probe into her father’s murder case.

According to sources, she has sought an appointment with Chief Minister Mohan Majhi to submit a letter demanding a CBI probe into the case. “I want to personally hand over a letter seeking a CBI investigation into my father’s murder case,” Dipali has reportedly said.

On Tuesday, the Crime Branch launched a fresh probe into the high-profile murder case by recording the statements of family members. A two-member team from the Crime Branch visited Naba Das’ residence in Sarbahal in Jharsuguda and recorded the statements of his son Bishal, daughter Dipali, and wife Minati Das.

Significantly, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Tuesday said that a thorough probe into the sensational murder is now underway.

Stating that the family of Naba Das had earlier been told to request the CM for reopening the case, he said investigation in the sensitive case in which a minister was killed, was taken off course during the previous government and several aspects were kept hidden. Keeping these factors in mind, the links in the case will be opened and the family members of the late Minister spared time for recording their statements, the Minister said.
