Jharsuguda: Retired Judge of the Orissa High Court Justice J P Das, who is monitoring the ongoing Crime Branch probe into Health Minister Naba Kishore Das’ murder, visited the crime spot at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on Wednesday.
Justice Das, who had reached Jharsuguda on Tuesday, inspected the crime spot near Gandhi Chowk along with Crime Branch ADG Arun Bothra amid tight security, sources said.
Besides examing the site, the ex-HC judge took stock of the progress made in the probe into the sensational murder so far. The Crime Branch ADG briefed him about different aspects of the investigation.
Justice Das has already expressed his satisfaction over the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Crime Branch.
Stating that the crime scene recreation done on Teusday will be of considerable help in the investigation, the former High Court Judge has said the probe is moving on the right track and expressed the hope that it will reach iits logical conclusion.
Apart from Justice Das, DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal also visited the crime spot along with senior officials. He had reached Jharsuguda on Tuesday along with Director of Intelligence Sanjeev Panda ADG Law & Order RK Sharma.
The state police chief took stock of the progress made in the investigation in the sensational murder case.
They will also hold discussion with the Crime Branch officers regarding the progress of the investigation.
It may be noted here that dismissed policeman Gopal Das had fired at the Minister on January 29 near Gandhi Chowk. Naba Das succumbed to bullet injury at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar the same evening.
