Bhubaneswar: Retired Judge of Orissa High Court Justice J P Das, who is monitoring the ongoing Crime Branch probe into Health Minister Naba Kishore Das’ murder, left for Jharsuguda on Tuesday.
While Justice Das is likely to visit the crime spot at Brajarajnagar town, Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal also proceeded to Jharsuguda to take stock of the progress made so far in the probe into the Minister’s killing.
Speaking to journalists, Justice Das said he was satisfied with the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Crime Branch.
Stating that the crime scene recreation will be of considerable help in the investigation, the former High Court Judge said that he is may visit the crime scene at Brajarajnagar where dismissed policeman Gopal Das had fired at the Minister on January 29. Naba Das succumbed to bullet injury at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar the same evening.
DGP Sunil Bansal and Director of Intelligence Sanjeev Panda are also on a visit to Jharsuguda. Additional Director General (ADG) Law & Order RK Sharma is reportedly accompanying them, sources said.
The top police officers will be taking stock of the progress made in the investigation in the sensational murder case.
They will hold discussion with the Crime Branch officers regarding the progress of the investigation.
