Jharsuguda: The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), New Delhi, is conducting Forensic Psychological Assessment (FPA) and Layered Voice Analysis (LVA) tests on the dismissed ASI Gopal Das, the lone accused in the case in the Health Minister Naba Das’ murder case.
LVA is carried out to gauge the emotional behaviour, mood fluctuations from the speech, which help investigators ascertain whether the suspect or accused is hiding or speaking the truth. Forensic Psychological Assessment, on the other hand, is used to evaluate a person’s behaviour, personality and overall psyche. It helps in understanding criminal behaviour and victimisation.
“A special Medical Board has been constituted to study the mental health of the accused,” a statement issued by the Crime Branch, probing the firing incident, said.
The probe team may also go for a polygraph test of the accused cop.
Notably, CFSL director Asha Srivastav visited Brajarajnagar and the crime scene at Brajarajnagar in Odisha’s Jhrasuguda district on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the JMFC court here has allowed the CB to take Gopal on another 4-day remand. The probe team has so far recovered 22 pieces of papers chits and those have been sent to the Handwriting Bureau for examination and opinion.
The documents recovered from the paternal house at Industrial Estate, Berhampur and the government quarter at Jharsuguda are being scrutinized. The financial details of the accused, his wife, brother and other close relatives are also being collected, the statement added.
