Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court on Monday asked the suspended BJD MP Ramchandra Hansda to apply for his bail in the Orissa High Court in connection with his involvement in the Nabadiganta chit fund scam.
It also asked the High Court to conduct a hearing on bail plea of the scam tainted leader within four weeks.
Notably, a team of three officials from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs had interrogated Hansda in Jharpara Jail in Bhubaneswar in March this year in connection with the ponzi scam after the permission by the Special CBI court in response to a petition filed by the advocate of the investigation team the Ministry.
The Mayurbhanj BJD MP, Hansda was suspended from the BJD after his arrest by the CBI on November 4, 2014 after recovering large amount of unaccountable money from his house
He was the founder director of Nabadiganta Capital Services.
