Nabarangpur Woman & Girl Fall Into Electric Trap, One Dies

Nabarangpur: A young woman was killed and a minor girl injured after they accidentally fell into an electric trap at Nagajodi village under Jharigaon block of Nabarangpur district on Wednesday night.

Jalia Harijan (22) abd Lakshmi were returning home from a Jatra in a nearby village when they came in contact with the live electric trap laid by poachers.

Jalia died on the spot while the minor girl was rescued and admitted to Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.

On being informed, Dabugaon police rushed to the spot and started investigations. A preliminary report said the person who laid the trap was a resident of Nagajodi village and is absconding after the incident.
