Mumbai: Naga Chaitanya’s ex-wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu lost her father Joseph Prabhu on Friday.
Samantha, who is struggling with her turbulent personal life, was left heartbroken after her father’s demise.
She took to her Instagram handle to share the sad news with her fans.
“Until we meet again, Dad,” Samantha wrote along with a broken heart emoji.
Fans and well-wishers extended their condolence to the actress during this difficult time.
Samantha’s father was a Telugu Anglo-Indian. The actress recently spoke about her “strained” relationship with her father and how it affected her self-confidence.
“All my life growing up, I had to fight for validation. My father was kind of like… I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you. He actually told me, ‘You’re not that smart. This is just the standard of Indian education. That’s why even you can get a first rank.’ When you say that to a child, I really believed for the longest time that I’m not smart and not good enough,” Samantha had said in an interview with Galatta India.
After Samantha and Chaitanya’s divorce in October 2021, the actress’ father had shared that it took him a long time to come to terms with reality.
He even took to his Facebook page to share wedding pictures of his daughter and reflect on the past.
