Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park, on the outskirts of the Odisha capital, received a pair of grey wolves on Saturday morning.
The animals have been brought to the zoo from Mysore in Karnataka in exchange of a pair of mouse deer.
The new inmates, aged about two and half years have been kept in quarantine, on the premises of the zoo after medical test.
The endangered species are usually found in wilderness and remote areas of Europe, Asia and North America, the zoo authorities informed.
The grey wolf is one of the most-researched animals in the books than any other wildlife species in the world. The animal is well-known for its wild behaviour and hunting style.
