Bhubaneswar: Two Nilgiri langurs, four white peafowls, 10 painted storks and a pair of reticulated pythons will soon greet visitors to Nandankanan Zoological Park here.
These four new animal species were brought to the zoo from Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Chennai under an animal exchange programme, along with eight American iguanas purchased from a private organisation there, on Monday.
All new members have been put in quarantine.
The Nandankanan Zoo authorities got these animals in exchange of two Himalayan Black Bears, one Siamese Crocodile, two Water Monitor Lizards, 10 White Ibis and four Open Bill Storks as per the approval of the Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi, sources informed.
