Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park, near here, re-opened to visitors on Tuesday after remaining closed for five days.
Anticipating that a rush of visitors during new year celebration would lead to spread of COVID-19, the zoo authorities had closed it from December 30 to January 3.
The visitors can book their tickets physically at the ticket counter of the zoo and online on the official Nandankanan website.
However, picnics and feasts in the Botanical Garden are not allowed till January 31. Those who have booked cottages in the Garden for feasts and other programmes will get their money refunded in 10 days, the zoo authorities informed.
The visitors have been asked to strictly follow COVID guidelines on the zoo premises. The authorities are ensuring social distancing, use of masks and hand sanitisation as safety measures.
