Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park near Bhubaneswar has geared up for rush of visitors on Christmas and New Year Day with additional facilities.
Though the zoo remains closed on Monday, the authorities have decided to keep it open on the day for next two weeks as Christmas and New Year Day fall on Monday. Since the two days are holidays, they are expecting heavy rush of visitors, according to sources.
For the convenience of the visitors, the zoo authorities will open temporary ticket counters apart from the existing ones. Besides, one can book the entry ticket online or through WhatsApp to spend more time inside the zoo instead of standing in a queue for a ticket.
One platoon of police will be deployed to keep a watch on anti-social elements and prevent any untoward incident during the two days.
The Fire Service personnel and a medical team will also be kept ready in case of any exigencies, the sources said.
