Bhubaneswar: The Central Zoo Authority (CZA) has allowed the Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) here to get 18 animals from the Aizawl Zoological Park in Mizoram as part of the animal exchange programme between the two zoos.
The Nandankanan zoo will get two Himalayan black bear (one male and one female), two wild dogs, six Asian brown tortoises, two Assam macaques and six Stump-tailed macaques. The Aizawl zoo will get four Common Peafowls in exchange.
The CZA has granted approval for breeding/pairing/conservation of the wild animals in the zoos.
The Nandankanan authorities had sought the permission of CZA for 18 animals from Aizawl zoo on December 23 last year.
