Bhubaneswar: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) personnel and police seized ganja and brown sugar worth Rs 80 lakh in separate raids on the city outskirts on Saturday.
Sources said following a tip-off, an NCB team intercepted a truck near the toll gate at Godipada on Bhubaneswar-Khurda National Highway and seized 7 quintals of ganja worth Rs 50 lakh. One person was arrested in this regard.
The truck was on way to Balasore from Andhra Pradesh.
In another incident, the Quick Action Team (QAT) of Commissionerate Police seized 300 grams of brown sugar from a vehicle in Pahala area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
Police said the seized contraband was worth Rs 30 lakh and they have arrested arrested three persons in this connection.
