Jagatsinghpur: Four people had a miraculous escape after a firecracker shop where they sleeping caught fire at a village in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident reportedly took place at Nuagada near Paradip in the district in the wee hours. Four people were sleeping in the shop when the fire broke out.
Firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees were reported to have been destroyed in the incident.
According to sources, crackers started exploding after the fire broke out. Hearing the noise, the four people woke up and ran for safety.
On being informed, fire services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flame.
The exact reason behind the spread of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
