Bhubaneswar: It was a close shave for four persons, including an infant, after the car in which they were travelling caught fire after skidding off the road at Pipili in Odisha on Sunday.
As per preliminary information, the incident took place at Bahabaja Chhak in Pipili in the morning.
Sources said the car suddenly veered off the road and dashed against an electric scooter. The mishap reportedly took place after the car driver took a sharp turn to save a stray bull on the road.
Following the collision, the car and the electric scooter veered off the road. The car caught fire within minutes, triggering panic among the occupants and people passing by.
However, no casualty has been reported in the mishap. Some occupants of the car and the scooter rider escaped with minor injuries, locals said.
On being informed about the mishap, fire services personnel from Pipili reached the spot and doused the flames.
