Rayagada: It was a close shave for passengers of Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express as timely detection of a crack on the railway near Singapur Road station in Rayagada help avert a major mishap on Tuesday.
Signalman Baishnav Gouda spotted a crack on the railway track near Singapur Road station and informed to the Railway authorities.
On being informed, the authorities inspected the spot. The train was diverted to another track and it left for the destination after a delay of one hour.
The repair work of the railway track has begun.
