Balasore: A major accident was averted when a rear wheel of a bus carrying around 50 passengers got detached from the axle in Odisha’s Balasore district on Thursday.

As per reports, the bus left Balasaore town for Dhamra after all the passengers boarded it in the afternoon. While the bus had travelled around 2 km from the bus stand, it started shaking violently. The driver stopped the bus on the side of the road to check the problem.

It was found that one of four rear wheels of the bus had got detached from the axle. Though nobody was injured in the incident due to timely and prompt action of the driver, the passengers were panicked by the incident.

The passengers said the bus staff were doing some repair work of the rear wheels before the bus started the journey. They suspected that one of the wheels might not be fitted properly leading to its uncoupling from the axle.
