National Games: Odisha Bag Gold Medals In Rowing, Gymnastics

Ahmedabad: Odisha sportspersons enjoyed a great day at the 36th National Games, bagging two gold medals and a silver on Sunday.

Odisha rowers Sonali Swain and Ritu Kaudi finished first in the Women’s Pair event.

Sanjukta Dungdung, Jharna Hasti, Ashmita Kerketta and Deepika Xess then claimed silver in Women’s Fours event.

At the gymnastics centre, Rakesh Patra struck gold in men’s Rings.


The Odisha women’s hockey team, favourites for the gold medal, started its campaign with a 3-2 victory against Uttar Pradesh.
