Bhubaneswar: The National Handloom Expo, organised by Boyanika, here, has been witnessing increasing footfall, registering an impressive business.
The total sale in the Expo, which was opened on January 20, has crossed Rs 3 crore with the Boyanika stall alone earning Rs 50 lakh, according to the organisers. Besides Boyanika, Apco of Andhra Pradesh, Cooptex of Tamil Nadu, Mruganayani of Madhya Pradesh, Kasfab of Jammu & Kashmir and participants from Karnataka, Delhi, Haryana and West Bengal have opened their stalls at the Expo.
The organisers said they were hopeful of good sales in next 17 days of Expo due to the ensuing marriage season. The stalls set up by 16 states from across the country have been drawing good crowd since the opening day, they added.
With various handloom products from handkerchiefs to silk sarees being available at reasonable prices under one roof, the Expo has seen repeat customers, they added.
