New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s questioning by Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been postponed.
Sonia Gandhi, who was discharged from hospital two days ago, had been summoned by ED on June 23 in an alleged money-laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper.
Sonia requested postponement of her appearance by a few weeks till she recovered completely from COVID-19 and lung infection. The ED accepted her requested.
The ED has summoned the Congress chief for questioning in a money laundering case related to the National Herald newspaper on June 23.
“Since she’s been strictly advised rest at home following her hospitalisation on account of COVID & lung infection, Congress Pres Sonia Gandhi has written to ED today seeking postponement of her appearance there by a few weeks till she’s recovered completely,” Congress’ communications in-charge Jairam Ramesh tweeted earlier in the day.
Sonia had initially been asked to appear before ED on June 8, but contracted coronavirus. The agency issued a fresh summons, asking her to her before it on June 23. Now that has been put back too.
ED has already questioned Sonia’s son Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case for over 50 hours over five days.
