Chennai: Odisha all but booked a berth in the knockout stage of the 14th Hockey India Senior Men’s National Championship with their second win in as many matches in Pool E.
Two days after walloping Rajasthan 11-1, Odisha on Friday hammered Puducherry 6-2.
There were six different scorers for Odisha. Amandeep Lakra opened the floodgates after 11 minutes, while Nilam Sanjeep Xess doubled the lead in 18th minute. Sudeep Chirmako (34th), Pratap Lakra (37th), Rajat Akash Tirkey (43rd) and Kerobin Lakra (55th) also got into the scorebook.
Nabin Kujur (21st) and T Arun Kumar (45th) found the mark for Puducherry.
The pool toppers will qualify for the quarterfinals, and Odisha will back themselves to top Pool E as they face Arunachal Pradesh in their final league fixture on November 10.
